Et c’est à ce moment-là, au cours d’un diner à New-York au mois de décembre, après une représentation, que le producteur scène de Mylène, Thierry Suc, lui présente Sting.

Les deux artistes sympathisent et se revoient quelque temps après, au début du mois d’avril 2015, en France, à l’occasion des concerts de Sting et de Paul Simon au Zénith de Paris. Mylène propose alors à Sting d’enregistrer un duo avec lui. La star anglaise accepte et propose à Mylène de reprendre avec lui « Stolen Car » une chanson qu’il avait enregistrée en solo en 2003 sur son album Sacred Love.

Déjà à l’époque Sting pensait que ce titre aurait dû être chanté en duo avec une femme. Mylène et Sting conviennent alors de donner une seconde vie en duo à cette chanson de voiture volée. Le
texte d’origine écrit par Sting est conservé, mais Mylène adapte une partie en français tout en conservant l’intérêt de l’histoire entre un homme, une femme et sa maîtresse, racontée dans le titre original.

Mylène apporte juste quelques petites choses typiquement françaises et dans son style. Pour la production, la belle rouquine a l’idée de faire appel au DJ niçois « The Avener ». Un choix validé par Sting. Durant l’enregistrement de « Stolen car », Mylène suggère à Sting de chanter dans une tonalité plus élevée qu’à son habitude, ce qu’il fait, donnant ainsi au titre une autre résonance.

Le secret de ce duo est bien gardé, c’est seulement au début du mois d’août 2015 que la rumeur d’un nouvel album de Mylène commence à circuler avec la perspective d’un duo avec Sting.

Et c’est finalement le 28 août 2015, après plusieurs teaser, dont un site spécialement créé avec des bruitages du soleil pour également teaser l’album interstellaire, que « Stolen car » arrive en streaming et sur les plateformes de téléchargement.

Ce premier extrait de l’album Interstellaires est largement diffusé sur les radios et se classe des le 4 septembre 2015 en tête des ventes par téléchargement, en France mais aussi en Belgique. Le CD single et le Maxi 45 tours paraissent le 9 octobre 2015 et permettent une nouvelle fois à la chanson d’être numéro 1 des ventes. Le disque paraît également aux États-Unis où il se classe en tête des classements des titres les plus joués en clubs.

Le clip torride de « Stolen Car » est tourné à Paris, les 1 er et 2 septembre 2015, à l’Hôtel Royal Monceau et sur les quais de la Seine. Réalisé par Bruno Aveillan, le scénario est proche de l’histoire racontée dans la chanson.

Il est diffusé pour la première fois sur internet le 12 octobre 2015 et dès le lendemain sur toutes les chaînes musicales. le duo «Stolen Car» bénéficie d’une importante promotion média tique. Les deux chanteurs donnent de nombreuses interviews à la presse française et internationale.

Le 7 novembre 2015, Mylène et Sting interprètent leur duo lors des NRJ Music Awards sur TF1. Au cours de cette soirée, Mylène remet un NRJ Award d’honneur à Sting.

Le 4 décembre suivant, ils participent au célèbre show télévisé américain de Jimmy Fallon sur NBC avec ce fameux passage où mylene donnera un coup de poêle dans la figure du présentateur, incapable de dire correctement le nom de l’album !
