M’effondre is a song from the album Bleu Noir released in December 2010.

In July 2016 Mylène Farmer lost her mother Marguerite Gauthier thirty years after a loss of her father Max Gauthier.

Let’s talk a little bit more about Mylene’s home life and her relationship with her mom.

The young Mylène grew up surrounded by 2 brothers (late Jean-Loup her elder and Michel the youngest) and the older sister Brigitte – but maintained a special bond with her paternal grandmother and a father who embodies the ideal man and the parental figure she always felt a special bond with. Although a relationship with her mother was not always easy and had a lot of friction over the years, was nevertheless a key relationship in Mylene’s life.

The breakup’s occurred when Mylène announced her parents, Marguerite and Max, that she will not pass her baccalaureate to become a riding instructor. Finally, she offers herself another destiny thanks to Laurent Boutonnat and Bertrand Le Page, thanks to whom she meets the success as we know her for.

Marguerite Gauthier admitted during an interview for the magazine VSD: “When Mylène decided to quit high school, we were very angry. At the time, we lived in Chaville. She often went to a recording studio with friends. That’s where a young man spotted her: Laurent Boutonnat .The first time I saw her on TV singing Maman a tort, I said to myself: “It will be a flop. “Not at all, it was a hit, as they say it is. But I am proud of her. Mylène is self-made and owes us nothing “.

Marguerite Gauthier was also delighted that her daughter came to visit her regularly. Tensions eased up with time which certainly enabled them to make up for the lost connection and be able to nourish the mother-daughter bond which was no doubts very healing experience for both. I hope Mylene is acknowledging 5th anniversary since her mom’s passing with a grateful and fulfilled heart being surrounded by her newly found duty as a jury in Cannes. I hope it also keeps her destructed from the excessive sadness as one can naturally feel around the time of the parent’s passing. RIP, dear Marguerite 🙏❣

M’effondre (like all Moby’s songs on the Bleu Noir album) was made from a model sent by Moby to Mylène. All the instruments on the model are played by Moby himself.

October 18, 2019: digital release at Midnight (streaming and download) of the single M’effondre Live 2019, the first single from Live 2019 the album of the nine concerts at Paris La Défense Arena in June 2019. Diffusion on the same day at 6am of the clip M’effondre Live directed by (yes, our familiar) François Hanss, best of images of the different parts of the show.

François Hanss is a French director and screenwriter born in 1960. After studying fine arts, he enrolled in the free conservatory of French cinema from which he graduated in 1981.

From 1980 to 1987, he was assistant director on commercials, short and feature films, TV films and music videos. Then he moved on to directing himself by signing commercials, music videos, reports and documentaries.

He is best known for his short film La Lettre, for his twice awarded film Corps à corps , and also for his collaborations with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat. He received the 2014 Sacem Grand Prize for the audiovisual author-director.
