For us foreigners (yes, a present company included) an idiom “Histoires de fesses” isn’t an easy one to translate. The range of meanings: can be something only physical if spoked about a relationship or something that has more talk and then actuality behind it (in English we’d say – “did you pull it out of your ass”? if a spoken info is not credible) It also can described as something of a low class, vulgar / offensive or cheep with no real depth or meaning. It is nowadays referred as a “yellow press” or “tabloids” . If you combined it all – you’ll get quite an eloquent phrase “Histoires de fesses” which Mylene serves us on a quite delicious musical plate sprinkled with soft rap. Obviously, all the real rappers must have some curse words into their lyrics (and the more the better). Mylene is a lady of class and therefore doesn’t go as low as talking “pussy” or “dick” but she leaves us some room for the imaginative interpretation with the juicy French “Histoires de fesses”. 🙂 Merci Mylene!

Initially, Histoires de fesses was to be a title entirely rapped by Mylène (we will finally find a part in rap on the Extended Version).

“Remember Pourvu qu’elles soient douces, if I may say so, it was already originally an almost a rap. I always liked that, I always liked that genre. And there, in this case, at the very beginning, when I worked with Feder, I had totally rapped it, precisely what you discover on the new title, the extended. And then, he said to me: “I believe that we should add a little bit of melody to it anyway”, and I followed his advice. No television performance on the song Histoires de fesses. But what a lovely stage delivery we got from Mylene! She playfully adds choreography accentuating her back side during the song performance – not only playing with the words but also with her whole body. Such an enchanting grotesque for the phrase “Histoires de fesses”, don’t you think? 🙂

So, let me ask you: what really attracted YOU so much to Mylene over all these years?

For ME personally seeing Mylene just as a poster girl and an “eye candy” is just not enough! In fact, it is offensive! There! I confess too – we are missing the forest for the trees…I hope this will translate to French.
I think we know and feel that we are witnessing Someone who is ahead of her time! How LUCKY are we!!!
She is Someone with not only angelic eyes and hypnotizing vocals but the Woman with Integrity and Strength, an Ambassador of Love and Truth. She exhibits her High Values through everything she is and everything she does.

She gives us the Food for Thoughts, Pure and Unfiltered Human Emotions, she lets us drink from her soul like from the purest spring.

But we just want a piece of a tabloid or recycled 2D version of her? Why?

Is that really where we are in our evolutionary scale? Don’t we want to look closer and deeper and beyond the “pretty face”? How long can we exploit this? Like all of us, she won’t last forever – such is a rule of our Earthy life. But while we have a chance talk to her and get to know her, why can’t it be something meaningful and sincere?

What I see is her magical ability to stay “in the zone” and experience the Divine flow of creativity. She possesses a Spark of a Creator in her heart which she shares with us all so selflessly and openly!  Isn’t that WHY we all want a piece of her?

That is the Secret and that is the Magic, folks!
Not the hair or face or legs or what she wears (or doesn’t!)! or says. It’s who SHE IS. The Ultimate Apotheosis of Creativity and Honesty in a Human.
I consider myself her student as through her I have obtained a great deal of personal integrity and the guts to be myself through it all.

Maybe starting today, we should make the Shift and disengage our participation in creating the “history of assholes” (such a good American word to use!) Maybe starting today, we will not contribute anymore into “des viols de rétine” and the Cult of the social distortion which would blow the mind even of Mr Dali himself (video says it all).

I pray for Mylene as I have always had to give her the Strength and the Courage to continue purifying us by facing our prettiest and the ugliest so we can find a Piece of our OWN Liberated Nirvana. Who is with me, my generation?!
