Un jour ou l’autre (One day or another) is a last song # 11 from the album Interstellaires released November 6 2015.
This effort is incredibly heart-felt and rewarding for me as I hope for you all and ultimately for Mylene herself. I have to admit it has been somewhat supernatural experience as well, with multiple “strange” coincidences and “signs”. Please read the chapters. I promise, you won’t regret it.
Interstellaires was a difficult album for Mylene. She has suffered an injury which demanded bed rest for many months. Being discreet and courageous she had not publicized the challenges she has endured during the process of creating the album at the it came out. Only later on, she disclosed the experience.
As usually, we assume, we know her but only by loving her deeply and unconditionally, you have a chance to truly know her. You need to spend days, weeks, months and years around her art, read beyond her words, feel beyond her immediate emotions, and only then being there lovingly and patiently, she will reveal herself to you like a lotus petal by petal opening her core. And even if you are one of the few who has that kind of loyalty and deepest appreciation, you still will be amazed by how deep her souls is…No matter how far you go into her world there is still even more remains unrevealed.
I am so truly honored that I was “invited” into her world by my enormous admiration and my desire to really KNOW her. I am learning every day something new and happy to share it with you all. Especially for the purpose to appreciate and fall even deeper in love with her beautiful essence and not only her “cover”. Go beyond, my dear Farmerians…that where the true treasure will be found …

This song is also a clever reference to the Mylene legendary song L’autre just as a clever reference was implanted into the Sentimentale
Lyrics of Mylène Farmer. Music composed by Martin Kierszenbaum and Mylène Farmer. Martin Kierszenbaum also played guitars, bases, drums, percussion and keyboards as well as directed it and participated in programming. Wow! One stop shop, that Mr Kierszenbaum!
The song is a dream of the better future. Romantic remake of the Imagine of John Lennon. Imagine a beautiful future when the future more evolved humans will be able to leave in harmony and be together amongst the planets and stars united only by one force and one law – the force of LOVE.
I have to specifically note the amazing drums in teh song: they are so defining and grand that create a triumphant feeling at its best. Its reminiscent of the Bolero by Ravel, doesn’t it? (my favorite piece of all times)
When she has been asked was the Un jour ou l’autre chosen to be the last song on the album for reason:
“I’m almost going to be rude to you because I never talk about my songs, in the sense that I write them, I record them, and I offer them to the public. It’s very difficult for me to get back to it. I am not looking for justifications, if it is not that you are right, it is not placed there by chance. ” (Mylène Farmer – Music Option – January 2016)

By sheer coincidence I had found a song by another beautiful French Canadian singer Isabelle Boulay also called Un jour ou l’autre
The lyrics of this song are just beautiful and perhaps, were subconsciously (or consciously) a source of the inspiration for Mylene’s Un jour ou l’autre .
Mylene didn’t neglect to Mention Graham Preskett as her collaborator who arranged the strings for the song:
“We wanted with Martin to try our hand at this Scottish universe, and we called on what we call an orchestrator, Graham who gave us these beautiful moments and these beautiful passages ” (Mylène Farmer – Music Option – January 2016)
Her overall abilities to form long lasting partnerships are just as impressive as her creativity. She works with the same team of folks for years and decades. It is indeed a sign of the unmatched talent to maintain deep and intimate relationship with people though the years.
Perhaps, it is one of the main ingredient in the recipe for her success? The truth is we all “carry each other” (as U2 would say). Any substantial achievement is a team effort, every creation worth to admire is built on many shoulders. Dearest Mylene, you are the reflection of collective emotions, collective pains and joys, you are the expression of the collective LOVE.
