Untitled is a song from the eleventh studio album by Mylène Farmer Désobéissance (meaning Disobedience) released by Sony Music Entertainment on 28 September 2018

Mylène explained the reason why the song Untitled doesn’t really have a title.

“At the time, we technically had to give a name to a title that didn’t exist yet. And so, I thought, Untitled, I like it a lot. And then after that, the title came. I knew. Feder’s music that I loved, and then I took a little longer to write a text. That’s why! It was purely technical, but at the same time, there is never any chance.” (Mylène Farmer – RFM – 12/18/2018)

Probable reference to the philosopher Seneca and this quote: “Life looks like a tale; what matters is not its length, but its value”, when Mylène writes for her part: “Life as a tale / What does not matter / It is not its length / But it is its value “.

I agree with some of the reviews as my personal impressions do match up.

Her tone in this song is as deep and gelatinous as a luscious dark honey… on and on it goes wrapping me around…resonating somewhere in the basic chakras of mine like an ancient gong. 

I don’t know how about you, but I am totally defenseless against this chesty deep voice gracefully mixing the languages (kind of like I do in my life here in the USA being Russian native).

The whispers are tastefully mixed with the higher notes in “All My love” leaving wanting more and more of the enveloping voice as well as the confusing and intriguing (as always) lyrics.

I am finding myself replaying the song over and over until my brain is totally intoxicated by its darkened sensuality complimented by very up-to-date musical production (bravo, Feder!)

It is probably one of my favorites from the Desobessance

Seneca inspired “Life Looks like a tale; what matters is not its length but its value”.  

Did you get the reminder!? Are you surviving and preserving the life’s length, or you are creating yourself the Tale to Remember?

Is it the snap of the finger I hear in the end of the song? Is it an allegory for the fast-passing life or perhaps it’s a last nail for the closing coffin? You decide!
