Mylène is calling is a song that can be found on the Maxi CD of the single Je t’aime mélancolie (1991).

Music composed by Laurent Boutonnat . Lyrics by Mylène Farmer. Well…what lyrics, I guess is the question? 😊 But I love hearing her beautiful voice and to me it is a poetry on its own…

Nevertheless, it is a wonderful piece of art. Especially redone by polyedre (see below)

Many believe that this song was not recorded in the studio in the classic way and that Laurent Boutonnat used and sampled a message from Mylène left on an answering machine. Well, perhaps that’s the case. Although I have no confirmation of this theory, it feels very real. Can you imagine hearing this voice mail on your phone!? Oh WOW!

Sorry, being naughty here for a bit and had to use this video frame from Appelle mon numero)

It was not until 2001 and the best of Les mots to find this studio version of the song on an album but exclusively on the collector’s version of the best of.

Mylenium Tour

Mylène is calling was sung on all the dates of the Mylenium Tour in 1999 and 2000.

By the way the song gave a chance for Mylène Mylène to change her costume for Optimistique-moi (and in particular to set up the “false metal butt)

It is then Valérie Bony one of the dancers that we see on stage during this song and who serves as an understudy for Mylène.

You probably have heard of Valérie Bony in the contest of the infamous kiss (L’instant X Top aux Carpentier TF1 March 9 1996)

about Valery Bony

Valery Bony participated in numerous TV performances from 1996 until 2002. Her last performance as a dancer with Mylène was for the C’est une belle journee.

Finally, it is Valérie who is the understudy for the title Mylène is calling on the Mylenium Tour thus allowing the singer to change between 2 songs.

But it was in 1989 that Sophie Tellier who was the most known for her evil roles in Libertine and Tristana introduced her to Mylène. She had not been selected as a dancer for the Tour 89 at the time.

A Double of Mylène in the clip L’Âme-Stram-Gram (1999). Dancer with Mylène on several televised performances between 1996 ( L’Instant X ) and 2002 ( C’est une belle jourNEE ).

Since 2003, Valerie has participated in numerous musical programs on France 2 and TF1 as a dancer and choreographer. Between 2002 and 2005, she notably choreographed with Christophe Danchaud for classification programs such as “The most beautiful duets”, “The most beautiful musical songs” … Programs generally presented by Daniela Lumbroso.

In 2014, she is credited as choreographer of the play “I prefer that we remain friends” by Laurent Ruquier.

She was a choreographer of the Alizée tour in 2003. In 2005 she was choreographer on the film Jacquou le Croquant directed by Laurent Boutonnat. She became a coordinator with Christophe Danchaud of the choreography of Oui mais … Non on the 2013 Timeless tour.

my poetry inspired by the song

the sun doesn’t care – it shines over me –
it makes me feel warmer, it makes me believe
that you might be feeling the same sunny rays
and your face like mine smiling freely these days

the moon doesn’t choose whom to send glowing light
hypnotic she is in the velvety nights
absorbing the magic, I am lost in a dream
that we might be sharing between you and me…

I send the embraces and kisses to you
they’ll safely arrive with the light of the moon
and if even briefly you’re feeling alone
They’ll wrap you with love by the warmth of the sun
