Dans l’œuvre de Mylène, l’enfance est un thème qui revient souvent. Nostalgique de cette période d’insouciance et de légèreté, loin des problèmes du monde adulte, la chanteuse aime écrire des textes qui la ramènent à cette première période de la vie.
C’est ce qu elle fait avec « Dessine-moi un mouton» en référence à cette phrase extraite du livre d’Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Le Petit Prince, publié en 1943.
Comme l’auteur de cet ouvrage qui invite les lecteurs à retrouver la part d’entance enfouie en chacun d’eux, dans cette chanson Mylène dénonce le monde solitaire des adultes sans imagination et invite à retrouver l’innocence et les rêves de l’enfance. Dès la sortie de l’album Innamoramento, au mois d’avril 1999,
le titre « Dessine-moi un mouton » apparaît comme l’un des préférés de fans de la belle rouquine, qui espèrent tous alors que cette chanson va sortir rapidement en single. Ce ne sera pourtant pas le cas. Ils devront attendre la publication de l’album live du Mylenium tour pour que la chanson paraisse en single, le 5 décembre 2000.
La pochette de ce disque est illustrée de dessins réalisés par Mylène elle-même.
Le clip qui accompagne cette sortie est l’extrait de l’interprétation de la chanson filmée par François Hanss à Bercy en septembre 1999, lors du Mylenium Tour.
On voit Mylène sur une balançoire au-dessus de ses danseurs qui jouent à saute mouton avant de danser une farandole. Ce clip est diffusé pour la première fois à la télévision le 15 novembre 2000.
Pour la sortie de l’album live et du single, Mylene ne participe à aucune émission de télévision et ne donne aucune interview. « Dessine moi un mouton » est en revanche énormément diffusée sur toutes les stations de radio, de NRJ à Europe 2 en passant par RTL et des tas de radios FM dans la France entière.
Le single se vendra alors à plus de 80 000 exemplaires, score plus que correct pour un titre en concert, et il atteint la sixième place du Top 50.
Pour l’anecdote, lors de la cérémonie des NRJ music Awards le 20 janvier 2001, au cours de laquelle mylene reçoit le prix de la meilleure artiste francophone de l’année,
elle fait son entrée sur scène au son de la version « World is mine » (remix) de « Dessine moi un mouton ». Bonne soirée à vous les z’amis ! 
Anecdote No14 : “Ode to childhood…”
In Mylène’s work, childhood is a theme that is a recurring theme. Nostalgic for this period of carefree and light-heartedness, far from the problems of the adult world, the singer likes to write lyrics that take her back to this first period of life.
It is what she makes with “Dessine-moi un mouton” (Draw me a sheep) in reference to this sentence from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry‘s book, The Little Prince, published in 1943.
Like the author of this book who invites the readers to find the part of childhood buried in each of them, in this song Mylène denounces the lonely world of unimaginative adults and invites to find the innocence and the dreams of childhood.
As soon as the album Innamoramento was released in April 1999, the song “Dessine-moi un mouton” became one of the favorites of the fans of the beautiful redhead, who all hope then that this song is going to be released quickly in single.
However, this will not be the case. They will have to wait for the publication of the live album of the Mylenium tour for the song to be released as a single, on December 5, 2000.

The video clip that accompanies this release is the extract of the interpretation of the song filmed by François Hanss at Bercy in September 1999, during the Mylenium Tour.
We see Mylène on a swing above her dancers who play leapfrog before dancing a farandole. This clip was broadcast for the first time on television on November 15, 2000. For the release of the live album and the single, Mylene does not participate in any television show and does not give any interviews.
“Dessine moi un mouton” is on the other hand enormously diffused on all the radio stations, from NRJ to Europe 2 while passing by RTL and heaps of FM radios in the whole France.
