Ce soir je vous propose de partir en voyage vers la ville de l’amour « City of love » qui est pour ma part l’une de mes chansons préférées de l’album « Interstellaire ».

On y va ? ~ L’ histoire de la chanson «City of love» est incontestablement liée à la rencontre entre Mylene et l’auteur-compositeur et producteur américain Martin Kierszenbaum. C’est le manager de la chanteuse. Thierry Suc, qui est à l’origine de cette collaboration.
Après avoir évoqué avec Martin Kierszenbaum la possibilité de travailler sur un futur album de Mylène Farmer, il organise une rencontre entre les deux artistes autour d’un diner. à New-York.
Sensible à l’univers musical de la chanteuse française, le producteur américain, également manager de Sting, sympathise ce soir-là avec Mylène et accepte de travailler avec elle sur la création de futures chansons. Ils conviennent de se revoir à Paris quelques semaines plus tard. Martin Kierszenbaum et Mylène commencent alors à travailler ensemble sur des chansons. Lui au piano et Mylène en face de lui. La chanteuse s’implique beaucoup dans les musiques en apportant ses idées de mélodies.
Ainsi, elle co-compose neuf des onze titres de l’album dont le titre « City of Love » à la musique duquel a aussi participé le compositeur américain Matthew Koma. Entre-temps la belle rouquine, en pleine préparation de ses nouvelles chansons, le 16 mars 2015, est victime d’une mauvaise chute.
Elle se fracture le péroné et le tibia, ce qui l’oblige à rester immobilisée pendant plusieurs semaines. Elle profite alors de cette période de convalescence pour écrire les paroles de ses nouvelles chansons dont celles de « City of Love ». La chanson est ensuite enregistrée au studio Guillaume Tell, avenue de la Belle Gabrielle à Suresnes, près de Paris, sauf quelques parties musicales du titre réalisées par Martin Kierszenbaum aux Etats-Unis.
Pour l’album « Désobéissance » Mylene intégrera un petit clin d’œil à cette mauvaise période avec le titre « Get up girl », qui fait directement référence au fait de se lever et de se bouger malgré sa blessure. Après le succès de « Stolen Car » en duo avec Sting, « City of Love » est le deuxième titre de l’album Interstellaire à être extrait en single.
Pour le lancement de « City of Love » un clip réalisé par Pascal Laugier au château de Chambly,
dans l’Oise, est révélé le 21 décembre 2015 sur la chaine YouTube de Mylène Farmer, après la diffusion de plusieurs extraits à la télévision dans les dix jours précédents.
Dès le 8 janvier 2016, la chanson « City ofLove » commence à être diffusée à la radio dans sa version single. Quelque temps après, un remix reggae est réalisé par Martin Kierszenbaum avec la participation de Shaggy. Cette nouvelle version du titre, intitulée « Martin’s Remix feat Shaggy», est disponible en streaming dès le 19 février 2016.
Le 25 mars suivant, « City of Love »> parait en CD single et en Maxi 45 tours et se retrouve rapidement en tête du Top des ventes en France.

And here we go for a new adventure filled with anecdotes. I missed these little meetings…didn’t you…? Tonight I propose to take a trip to the “City of love” which is for my part one of my favorite songs of the album “Interstellar“.
Anyway! Shall we start? ~ The story of the song “City of Love” is undoubtedly linked to the meeting between Mylene and the American songwriter and producer Martin Kierszenbaum. It is the singer’s manager – Thierry Suc – is at the origin of this collaboration. After having discussed with Martin Kierszenbaum the possibility of working on a future album of Mylène Farmer, he organized a meeting between the two artists over dinner in New York.
Sensitive to the musical universe of the French singer, the American producer, also manager of Sting, sympathized that evening with Mylène and agreed to work with her on the creation of future songs. For the launch of “City of Love” a clip directed by Pascal Laugier in the castle of Chambly,
in Oise, is revealed on December 21, 2015 on the YouTube channel of Mylène Farmer, after the broadcast of several excerpts on television in the previous ten days.
From January 8, 2016, the song “City of Love” begins to be played on the radio in its single version. Some time after, a reggae remix is made by Martin Kierszenbaum with the participation of Shaggy.
This new version of the title, entitled “Martin’s Remix feat Shaggy“, is available in streaming from February 19, 2016.
